Sometimes in life if we are lucky, a very special spirit touches us. As brief as it may be, the encounter is so significant it is life altering. Cay was a special spirit. From the moment I met her, it was as if we were joined at the hip. She was a dog with outstanding character and joyous attitude. She loved life, her spirit was filled with sunshine and she met every challenge as a new adventure. She was my devoted friend, a delight to live with and a breeze to train. Her charisma made her friends wherever she went. What I will miss the most is her pushy, naughtiness and the fact that she never left my side.

She produced one outstanding litter with ease and raised them as if she had done it many times. She passed on her rock solid temperament, fun loving spirit and zest for life.

She was in my eyes one of the greatest dogs and to me she couldn't have been more perfect. She was a dog like no other I have ever known.

Garth Brooks put into words how I feel today about being touched by Cayenne:

"The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance……………….."

Now, I can only hope that there really is a rainbow bridge and that someday we will be together again.

I lost Cayenne due to complications that developed after she swallowed a piece of a rubber toy.
